My attitude to children
To my mind the most important part of teaching mathematics is actually to reveal the beauty and the ease of the study when valuing the learning tempo of an individual student. I rely on believing in every single learner, that each one carries the capability to learn and do the maths introduced to her or him. I think that the intent of teaching is to supply each learner with skill-sets and good sense to flourish and function in the general public. Because of this, I prefer to treat my learners respectfully and to be just as supporting as possible in the learning process meantime provoking them to discover extra ways of thinking and new thoughts and guidelines. I will value each individual child's needs within reason of what is possible and what tools are there in the classroom. I will look for to put in as much or more effort and time as I await from my scholars. I will admit that I have as much to study every year as my learners, and I will be open enough to accept commentary and ready for new techniques of teaching in an attempt to reach each of the learning styles.
Mentoring and learning together
I see my role at this spot as a professional, much identically their real school teachers are, still, also as a new provider of back up and assistance. My role is that of a guide as I don't teach a full day of courses as my grand teacher does, therefore, I can be a resource the scholars can use to get supplementary advice as well as can count on in order to get back up. My function is also that of a learner, so I see myself as an extension of my students, I am definitely learning through them what it means to be an excellent mathematics tutor.
How I help my students improve
Contrary to lots of tutoring groups in Barrabool, throughout the regular academic year, I actually work with the data that the child gains in his/her classroom. In other words, I tend not to require that scholars do extra worksheets and assignments which are not really part of the scholar's maths class, however, rather, I coach the student in places of his/her maths lesson which may be really challenging as quality and depth of understanding, use of models, and test-taking strategies. All that I do is connected directly to assisting the learner to better realise the material from the maths class that she/he is having and to enhance the grade in that subject.
